Wanna organize a Zaangha?
That’s awesome!! Creating a Zaangha is a powerful way to contribute to our community here at Zaadz. These events can be life-changing because beautiful and unexpected things always happen when Zaadzsters come together. So,
a HUGE thank you to all of the Zaangha organizers and community catalysts out there. You are playing an essential role, making a big difference and you are amazing.
Now, here is a list of our
top ten things you should know to get your Zaangha off the ground:
1)
Choose a location, activity and time: A Zaangha can be simple or elaborate.
It all depends on the time and resources available. It can be as
easy as going to a local coffee shop or as
creative and complex as you like. One Zaadzster even suggested arranging an entire concert for the Zaadz community, another suggested a volunteer project for coastal cleanup. A Zaangha can be any size, shape or color. It’s up to you.
Do what you can do. You can also make the type of event a group decision. But, I suggest you, as the organizer(s), provide some options for people to choose from.
Look here if you need ideas!
2)
Inviting People #1: This is the most important part of creating a Zaangha. You need other Zaadzsters, and maybe some of their friends. There are already a lot of local pods.
Check here for yours and post about your Zaangha. If there isn't one, you can start it! You can also contact the individual members and the pod cultivator to reach out. Don’t forget to post here at our
Zaangha HQ, you may reach some people who aren’t in your local pod or don’t have their location listed in their profile. You should also post in
zEvents.
3)
Inviting People #2: After that, go to the
Zaadzsters section and put your city or region into the search field. It may take a bit of time to contact people individually,
but it’s worth it. A great strategy is to
recruit people to help you plan the Zaangha. I organized the first Zaangha before we even called them that and I got a friend (Hi
Nancy) to help me send invites to local Zaadzsters. You can split them up alphabetically. No need to go it alone.
4)
Inviting People #3: You can invite non-Zaadzsters and tell everyone to
bring a friend who would love to meet some beautiful & conscious people.
5)
RSVPs: Ask people to RSVP in your invite so you have at least a general idea of how many people are coming.
6)
Provide Contact Info: You want to give people
clear directions to the place you will meet including a link to the website or
google maps. You should also
provide your contact info so people can reach you to RSVP or get last minute info on the day of the event. If you don’t want to post this on Zaadz, you can wait for people to RSVP and then give it to them. If you just give your Zaadz info, they might not be able to get in touch on Zaangha day.
7)
Activities for the Zaangha: There are some great tips in the
Zaangha Manual for icebreakers and discussion. Here are a few more things you can do by using the tools already on Zaadz:
- Questions & Reflections for icebreakers! Choose your favorite three and bring them to the group. You can even bring art supplies and create a work of art out of your answers.
- Quotes on Zaadz! Ask everyone to pick out his or her favorite quote and share it at the Zaangha.
8)
Take Photos: Don’t forget your camera and to post your pics on Zaadz! Tag your photos with the word "Zaangha."
9)
Stay in Touch: Use your local pod to stay in touch and plan events for the future.
